Col Charles J. "Charlie" Beck Named Base Commander at Patrick AFB, FL

Col Charles J. "Charlie" Beck, who was an enlisted SP in the 70s and 80s at Maxwell AFB, and who earned a commission in 1983, later returning to Maxwell as the 3800th SPS Ops Officer, is now the Base Commander at Patrick AFB, FL. The base is adjacent to NASA's Kennedy Space Flight Center. Col Beck's official title is "45th Mission Support Group Commander".

Col Beck, sir, you have made all of us former Maxwell and Gunter SPs proud! Outstanding!

  • Update, 11/2/2010: Col Beck will be retiring on 1/28/2011. His retirement ceremony will be at Maxwell AFB, AL, which was his first duty assignment after Tech School.

  1. I went through LE school with Charlie and was stationed in Alabama with him. I went on to become an Indiana State Trooper and was working in the Intelligence Office and went to a meeting of other law enforcement agencies and Charlie Beck was in attendance (he was stationed at Grissom AFB) It was great to run into him and catch up.
